Seattle has been a hotbed more than once. Nirvana and Soundgarden really put it on the map in the early 90s, but there’s been a scene out there (before and after grunge) that has typically been heavy and dramatic and different.

Following in the footsteps of Jimi Hendrix, Queensryche, and Screaming Trees is Helms Alee. First blush – heavy stoner rock. Second take – hey, those beats are not phoned in and DAMN that singer is angry. Third time ’round – can’t stop listening.
