I don’t know a lot of folks who are aware of Cornelius at all. Keigo Oyamada is a guy from Japan who makes music that draws from tons of influences. It’s hard to describe his body of work in any particular genre, but it’s pretty experimental and free. Kind of akin to Zappa, where traditions were used as brushes, but didn’t constrain the pieces. There’s pop, punk, electronic, and even a classical vein.
The live band can get pretty damn raucous, too, which is right in my wheelhouse. Here’s an example:
