I think there’s only one friend of mine who would join me in praising this band (or has even heard more than a few songs). To be fair, they were far from prolific, but they made a really good record in Marvin The Album.
The sole American hit (Labor of Love) probably only charted as “alternative” and aside from MTV, probably didn’t cross most radars. Hell, maybe it stinks, but it certainly played well with my musical palate. The words here are relevant today, as ever:
It’s verging on twee, which is not typically in my wheelhouse, but it’s beautifully recorded, nice music. Here’s another one I like a lot:
I still keep Marvin the Album in rotation. Solid piece of music.
